A Day by the Sea: Residents Enjoy a Visit to Felixstowe
23 September 2026

A few of our residents recently enjoyed a trip to the View Point Cafe in Felixstowe, spending the afternoon watching the ships, enjoying a coffee and having a good chat together.
A few of our residents recently enjoyed a lovely trip out to Felixstowe, taking in the sea air and stopping for refreshments at the View Point Cafe.
Sometimes the simplest days out are the most enjoyable, and this was a great opportunity to get out of the home, enjoy a change of scenery and spend some quality time together.
Coffee, Conversation and a View
Once everyone was settled at the cafe, there was plenty of time to relax over a coffee and have a good chat.
The View Point Cafe provided a great spot to sit together and socialise while watching the activity around the Port of Felixstowe.
With ships coming and going, there was always something to look at and talk about!
Watching the Ships
One of the highlights of the visit was simply watching the shipping activity.
Felixstowe is home to one of the UK's busiest container ports, so there is rarely a shortage of impressive ships to see.
Residents were able to watch the vessels and port activity while enjoying the views across the water.
It made for a relaxing afternoon and sparked plenty of conversation along the way.
Getting Out and About
Days out are an important part of life at Stour Valley Care Group.
Whether it's a larger organised trip or simply heading somewhere nearby for a cup of coffee, getting out into the local community gives residents an opportunity to enjoy new surroundings, socialise and continue doing the things they enjoy.
Our activities are always about providing choice. Some residents enjoy busy events and group activities, while others prefer something more relaxed — like sitting by the coast with a coffee and good company.
This trip to Felixstowe was certainly one of the latter!
Another Lovely Day Out
Everyone had a lovely time and returned home after an enjoyable afternoon of fresh air, conversation and ship watching.
A big thank you to the team who helped make the trip possible and, of course, to our residents for the great company!
We are already looking forward to our next day out.
